Description of Membership Types
Regular ND
Membership: A regular member is a naturopathic physician who meets
any two of the following three criteria.
1.
He/she is a graduate of a college of naturopathic medicine
recognized by the American Association of Naturopathic Physicians.
Copy of diploma required.
2.
He/she holds a license as a naturopathic physician in a state or
jurisdiction whose license is acceptable to the Ohio Chapter of the
American Association of Naturopathic Physicians. Copy of license
required.
3. He/she is an active member of a state association which is
recognized by the Ohio Chapter of the American Association of
Naturopathic Physicians, such state association being the one which
covers the state, commonwealth, or territory in which he practices.
1st/2nd
Year Graduates: 1st and 2nd year graduates of colleges of
naturopathic medicine recognized by the OCAANP may be granted
membership by meeting the first criteria listed below provided that
they cannot renew membership, vote, hold office or be considered for
appointment until they have proved to the OCAANP that they have met
at least one of the other two membership criteria.

2. He/she holds a license as a naturopathic physician in a state or
jurisdiction whose license is acceptable to the Ohio Chapter of the American Association of Naturopathic Physicians.

3. He/she is an active member of a state association which is
recognized by the Ohio Chapter of the American Association of Naturopathic Physicians,
such state association being the one which covers the state,
commonwealth, or territory in which he practices.
Retired/Inactive
Member: A retired/inactive member is former regular or associated
member (or any Naturopathic Physician who would have qualified for
such membership while active in the profession) who is neither
seeing patients nor deriving income from teaching, practicing or
research in naturopathic medicine or related fields.
Associate Member:
An associate member is a naturopathic physician who meets any one of
the membership criteria.
1. He/she is a graduate of a college of naturopathic medicine
recognized by the American Association of Naturopathic Physicians.
Copy of diploma required.
2. He/she holds a license as a naturopathic physician in a state or
jurisdiction whose license is acceptable to the Ohio Chapter of the
American Association of Naturopathic Physicians. Copy of license
required.
3. He/she is an active member of a state association which is
recognized by the Ohio Chapter of the American Association of
Naturopathic Physicians, such state association being the one which
covers the state, commonwealth, or territory in which he practices.
Supporting
Member: A supporting member is a physician or other individual who
is not eligible for regular membership.
Student:
A student member is a matriculated student in good standing at a
college of naturopathic medicine recognized by the OCAANP.
